not-laW County
This is an aerial photo that shows Choctawhatchee Bay, the shore lne of the Gulf of Mexico, and a portion of Walton County land. The Tourist Development Council (TDC) represents the area as lyrical, bright, beautiful, and filled with promise. However there is great danger here, and it’s not hiding in the dark blue water.
A joke among many locals is that Walton, spelled backwards, is not-laW. A concern among many locals is not to make waves with "the good ole boy" network of politics in not-laW County. It's time to bring politics and Walton County into the 21st century so that the public is safe and the area can grow with confidence. From 2005 to Nov. of 2011. the TDC spent over $25 million dollars to advertise the area as a vacation destination and to entice potential future businesses, investors. We cannot help but feel that this is in effect "trolling for victims" with taxpayers dollars. The funds could have easily been used to correct the long standing errors created by the County & State. We can't understand how Walton County can promote the area for investment or development via the TDC with a clear conscience when the Commissioners know how bad the land issues are
